May 27 Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation week begins on 27 May. It is the anniversary of the 1967 Referendum to remove clauses from the Australian Constitution, which discriminated against Indigenous Australians. It concludes on 3 June, the anniversary of the 1992 High Court of Australia’s judgement in the Mabo case, which recognised the Native Title rights of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Celebrate this week by learning about the culture and history of Australia’s Indigenous people and exploring new and better ways of meeting challenges of reconciliation in our communities.
